starts with yourself. Whether you are a parent or not, you still have
important relationships in your life. If you don't, I encourage you
strongly to find some. Friends are a huge part of life. Sometimes it
is not easy to sustain these crucial relationships When you are stressed or angry or depressed, these are major signs that you must
take care of yourself.
It really depends on YOU. Different approaches work for different people. It is also important to consider all facets of your health. Emotional. Spiritual and physical health require a holistic approach. You cannot talk care of one without dealing with the other.
- Self talk
- time for yourself: Reading, writing, yoga, meditating, gardening, karate, swimming. warm bath, a hot drink
- time with others
- support group
- counselors/ pastor
- Eat well
- Get enough rest
- pray
- sunlight
- New perspective
- Have a passion
Planning:
If you are a blogger, plan what you are going to blog
If you are a runner, plan your run
Write down what you want to complete
Have a gratitude journal.
Planning relieves stress. Planning makes decisions easier. That doesn't mean you can't adapt to new decisions either.
How do you handle stress? I think it is really important to learn positive ways to handle stress because otherwise stress is kept in our body and our kid reflect what they see. Make time for yourself.
Have a hard time finding this time? When you are a caregiver to others or to kids, finding empty space to do things is a balance. Perhaps, you and your partner can switch depending what your routine is. Another option is to involve your kids- Dance and sing together, do some art, cook together, make it fun!
This post is inspired by 31 days of kindness and the DBC.

One of my favorite ways to deal with stress is to go outside and hug a tree. Sure, it may sound silly but it's a great way to calm down, recharge and get your eye back on what's most important (and it's never worry, fear or doubt). :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! Reconnecting with nature is so important! Hugging a tree is a good to ground yourself. Actually, I had a friend who used to do this ::)
DeleteThanks for this reminder to be kind to yourself! As moms, it's so easy to forget that we matter just as much as everybody else, and we deserve kindness too. Thank you!
